Graphic Design

I’ve been a graphic designer in a professional capacity for almost a decade. I worked as part of a print shop for a school district, turning out business cards, logos, programs, posters, signs and about anything else you can think of to use in and around a school and the supporting departments. Clearly, that’s not all I used my skills for- I also designed for friends, family, and for fun. Here’s a tiny sample of the work I’ve done with posters, programs, resumes, invites, menus, custom business cards, and other graphics.

Having worked with clients who had all sorts of events, budgets, time frames, and ideas, I’ve gotten pretty good at creative problem solving, and can whip something up for almost any need rather expeditiously.

Digital Illustration

Generally, I’ll do a pencil sketch, which I'll then import to use as the bones of a digital image, though more and more I find myself creating an image start to finish in a program with no traditional-media planning before hand.

This is a collection of my digital works done for fun or for practice- several of which were done with the intent to make them into prints.

I grew up with a pencil perpetually in-hand, but I also grew up in the digital age, so where would I be if I couldn't illustrate on a computer?

Traditional Illustration

My artistic skills are largely self-taught, and I can’t remember a time I didn’t love to draw. Paper and pens were most easily accessible for so much of my life, though I find myself moving more and more towards digital art in recent years.

This is a collection of my favorite recent-ish pen and paper illustrations. I work often with highlighters and ink washes, but I have also done illustration with Copic and Prisma markers, assorted standard writing implements, and once, a book with watercolors.

A Bit About Me

Out of college, I spent 8 years as a designer for NEISD’s print shop. Now, after a lot of thought and planning, I’ve decided to become my own boss. I’m so excited for this next chapter in my life!!
